How about a rollback feature? Windows has that Windows Restoration thing which is a POS but I think it would be nice for Ubuntu to have something similiar that actually works. I'm aware of how to backup my system but a lot newcomers are not. The one reason I mention this is because I see a lot of people adding 3rd party repos or doing crazy stuff with their system not knowing how to fix it if it breaks. The first thing these users do is reformat, which should only be a last resort. This should all be able to be avoided. This application should be available in admin menu, once restored, the restoration point should be available in the grub menu e.g. "Ubuntu Restoration Point - Oct. 30, 06" Or something along these lines.

Rollback points use a lot of space. Moreover, I never used them. So I'd rather reinstall if something goes wrong than waste 2GB of unused data.

Couldn't they just make an ISO image of /home?

Probably just backup the important folders like /home, /etc and so on in an archive file, that would cut down the size a fair bit. SBackup can already be scheduled to do this automatically, but I like the idea of restoring from grub. :)
