I recently installed one of the latest of what seemed like an endless series of Edgy Eft "beta" releases...and I was wondering if there was any way to play games such as Black Hawk Down, Call of Duty 2, or America's Army on Ubuntu. I would install a Windows partition to handle this work, but I don't see the point in paying upwards of $100.00 to play a few games I already own.

I know a linux client for AA is available.

Blackhawk Down I have no idea about.

Call Of Duty 2, I doubt it will run happily in Wine, it MIGHT run in cedega, but I'm not sure how well.

On a similar note, my Xbox games won't work in PS2. Why is this?

Check the Cedega games database for compatibility

http://transgaming.org/gamesdb/

Call of Duty 2 uses MSI for installing, and back in January I gave it a shot with a now older version of Cedega and it was very difficult to get it running, I never managed.

If you feel up for the challenge, go for it.

http://transgaming.org/gamesdb/games/view.mhtml?game_id=4011 which is the CoD 2 page shows no stars at all for Call of Duty 2 playability. :(
