Hi, this morning I upgraded from Dapper Drake to Edgy Eft. When I got home, I figured I would try to get some eyecandy running, so I tried following this guide http://www.unpluggable.com/?p=59, which was the first result in a quick google search and didn't work. Now not only do I not have eyecandy, I have no running 3d games either. Doom 3, Quake 4, Tenebrae, Unreal 2004, NOTHING. Anyone here have any idea whatsoever on how to fix this? Oh, and if anyone would post to a working eyecandy guide, that would be real nice too...

PS: For future reference, I am using the most current version of the FGLRX driver and have a x850 pro.

Undo what you have done, follow these guide instead: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=272104

Also, it's a good idea to switch to metacity from beryl when 3D gaming, sometimes 3D games freeze your computer hard when exit the game.

Thanks for the reply, uhh, not quite sure how to "undue" what I did, I removed the repository that the guide told me to add, but beyond that, no idea...

Can you use Synaptic to uninstall Compiz XGL or Beryl?
