Hi.
There is a program I would like added to the repository. It is a desktop based translation tool - very useful.
It is called Gnome Translator (http://jodrell.net/projects/translator)
An alternative is TransJ (http://www.gnomefiles.org/app.php?soft_id=390)

Gnome Translator isn't under active development and hasn't had an update since December 2003. Doubt that is going to make the cut for getting into a repository, Ubuntu's or Debian's.
Transj is a GPL Java app. But since it relies on Java, a license incumbered application, this one isn't going to make it into a Ubuntu or Debian repository either. You might convince jdong to add it to the Backports project.
But it looks like it comes with a simple install script...why not just install it that way and be done with it?
