after a fresh install you havent updated the update manager?

just install automatix2 and it will do the rest? (no need to edit source.list add repos etc..)

I am using it right now, my normal speed is 830kb/s, but when using automatix2 I get 13kb/s. Is it the same for the rest of you, or is it just me? Great application anyway!

Thanks, I made the gui.

Just started testing automatix2 with 6.10.

Installation was smooth. Just followed instructions in Wiki.

Testing not so good.

Problems with first package I tried (Sun Java JRE + FF). Stalled at OK for license request.

in the Debian_Frontend.

Probably should have used Synaptic for this package, install was simple in 6.06, but had to start testing someplace.

Went to the automatix site and registered for the forum. Grumble.
- No sections, that I could see, for 6.10 specific problems.
- Verdammte black background for site and forum. Zoom text to make readable, and then switch to No Page Style to actually see what was on the site.

Where should problems re. 6.10 be posted.

This black is cool theme also shows up in the applications GUI. Is there a way to use cli options to get a black text on a white background. Not cool, but very readable.

Psigh. Back to searching to see if I can find answers elsewhere.

You made a baaad mistake when you admitted to be the author of the GUI. Opened yourself up to questions.

PS: Other than the colour scheme (which also applies to the progress boxes before the main dialog) looks like a very usable GUI.

Later. Hopefully.

Thanks, I had left automatix "waiting" on another desktop. That worked.

Completed first test successfully. Packages included in test.

File Sharing: none
Internet: Sun Java 1.5 JRE + FF plugin
Miscellaneous: Extra Fonts
Multimedia: AUD-DVD Codecs, Flash Player plugin for FF, Multimedia codecs
Office: none

Browsed ~ and found ~/.automatix/activity.log. Browsed the log and made copy JIC. Some things to look at in detail later, but on surface, clean.

Tested functions added. Again, clean on quick first test. Nice to see Flash 9 beta included. Flaky but still better than Flash 7. Too many sites are Flash 8+.

Noticed the uninstall tab added to the main application window. Nice, was wondering how that was going to be handled.

Looks like a usable tool. Thanks.

I found trying to install swiftfox 2.0 caused my comp to freeze. It reconozes my Opty 146 however it looks like it tries to install the 64bit version of Swiftfox?

Cheers buddy, this made my clean install of edgy go much smoother. Whats more, I have finally been able to convince my housemate to do "the" switch.

Keep up the goood work;)

Hello, I'm new at Ubuntu/linux. I tried instaling Atomatix2 and I got the messeg. :
W: GPG error: http://www.debian-multimedia.org stable Release: The following
signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available:NO_PUBKEY 07DC563D1F41B907

I received this Messg. right after: entering sudo apt-get update.
Can someone help me with this? Up to that point it seem like I had done alright. I'm new so please do not spare any detail. I just barely installed the win32 codec and those for Mp3. Please help:)

remove the debian-multimedia repository from your sources.list and do an apt-get update. the error is coming from that repo (did you add it manually?). Its got nothing to with automatix

Thx, I made an error I did not add the following line:

deb http://www.getautomatix.com/apt edgy main

That was all, I'm currently updating my system, thank you all for your help, hope some day I would be able to help others as well. I'm very happy \\:D/ with Ubuntu and trying to convince a friend to go Ubuntu as well at least in one of his systems ;)
