Okay so I decided to install UT2003 on my new Ubuntu machine to get a little fragging going under Linux. After finally getting the game to install I fired up the game (directly from the install window when ut was done). The game started smoothly and the nVidia screen looked all lag-free and dandy. I went ahead to options to chand software audio to hardware audio and the game crashes. I try to start it again using the terminal command "ut2003" and I get this error:
Can't find 'ini:Engine.Engine.GameEngine' in configuration file
I reboot, try again, same ****. I do a fresh reinstall of the game, boots nicleybut lags on the nVidia-screen quite badly, so I decide to reload it. Boom.
Can't find 'ini:Engine.Engine.GameEngine' in configuration file
I get that **** back at boot. I downloaded the patch and got that "installed", run the game but it's the same ****.
I've tried fixing it with xhost + (which was necessary for installation) but that doesn't help at all.
I've got a ATi Radeon 9600Pro card, with all the right drivers and tweaks to get it to do hardware 3d under ubuntu, so that can't be it, can it? I really don't know how to solve this, so any help would be appreciated.
