Hi,

Do you know of any distro that installs on machines with ATI X700 without any installation errors?

It doesn't matter if it uses a generic driver, provided that the installation completes fine, without having X11 errors, nor having to do manual typing on a console.

Ubuntu? My installed fine on my computer with a X800. The problem with ati is their closed source driver, any distro will probably install fine with that card using a open source driver.

Yes, Suse Linux 10.1. Now I realize how lucky I was when I got the DVD from a known magazine (though expensive) as I was on holidays and didn't have by then access to large bw, only dial-up.
