LOL! Diskette, that’s great :) I wonder when that particular error message was written.

So you using Vista? Keep in mind that Vista is not fully compatible with XP. Applications that worked with XP don’t necessarily work with Vista.

Anyway, the odd hiccup happens. I’ve had Firefox crash a few times in Debian… A very swift crash it is too, it just vanishes from the screen and that’s that.

I managed to crash Vista RC running in VMware server by trying to install Firefox using the Web install. If I download Firefox and install it from the hard drive it installs without any problem. Vista is not 100% compatible with some XP applications.

Vista is still in RC.... try it after it is released... but I would advice you to stick with Ubuntu.

its just xp with a vista skin
and winamp wont play anything rite
gaim wont start and some programs just randomly wont start

Actually, Vista is a complete rewrite, but I can understand why people would think it is just a new skin.
Best advice here was to stick with Linux.
Please do not use this as a bashing area.

I am looking for the bashing forum, but am not finding it.

you're "giving" up on windows for the same reasons users "give up" on linux

jhenager. What gonzo said is that he is using WinXP but hew installed a Waste-wanabe visualstyle off the web.

It seems you have broken c++ runtime files in your system...try reinstalling winamp and gaim :-k
