I just got my new Gazelle Perfomanc yesterday, and have really been enjoying it...until I updated.
I performed the suggested software updates, and then proceeded to have 3-5 second lags every 10-15 seconds. I had also installed easyUbuntu so I assumed that that was the problem.
I did a restore off the included DVD (which was a breeze!) and everything was fine...until I updated again.
Back to the lags - what can I do?

Do you have the nVidia card? I think that that can be solved by going to system -> administration -> System76 Driver Install

As Kevinly said run the System76 Driver Install > reboot > and check whether the lag persist. If it does we'll need to isloate which update is causing the problem (we test updates over here as well and haven't seen a lag occur - makes this one interesting.)
If the driver install doesn't help boot into the previous kernel by pressing Escape when you see the GRUB boot menu. Does the lag occur in the pre-update kernel?

I think that took care of it. Just ran all those updates and its ben running like a champ.
This really is a great machine. I'm very happy.
