I would like to use ClustalW in a window based environment, hence installed Clustalx from Multiverse but it does not work. My command line output:

arjen@beavis:~$ clustalx
Couldn't find X visual appropriate for OpenGL!

No idea what that means. What to do?

What WM manager are you using? Gnome or KDE?

Not sure what could be wrong....ClustalX works fine for me here. To the two of you having problems, are you using compiz or beryl?

Nothing kinky, except dual monitors with an ATI video card. ClustalX asks for openGL, which I presume is spurious. I end up running it on my laptop over an ssh -X session, but it's a pain to not be able to run on the desktop machine.
