versio 4.10 why ?

Hmmmm.... it's the first release of Ubuntu...why is it it doesn't start with version 1.0 ???

What does 4.10 mean ??

Actually not quite if you look at the releases (http://www.ubuntulinux.org/ubuntu/releases/document_view) section of the website you will see the numbering convention. 4.10 signifies October 2004 ie the 10th month of 04. Hoary will be 5.04 ie April 2005. Quite nifity I thought :-P
