I am having difficulty updating the Repositories. I am on a university network, have to use a automatic proxy configuration URL (http://wwwcache.ed.ac.uk/config/proxy-config.pac) to be able to use firefox. Any ideas as to what to specify for the network settings?

Open that proxy config URL you pasted and read down a bit. I think wwwcache.ed.ac.uk:3128 is what you need to be using.

thanks so much! i cant think why i didnt try that! i guess i thought that it wouldnt work becuase theres no dot after the www...
