Any chance for adding encryption to Deluge? It's the only thing keeping me with Azureus!

encryption is a tricky subject. we'd love to add it, but the library that we use, libtorrent, does not currently support encryption, so its something we'd have to hack in ourselves.

expect encryption in the future, but not in the immediate future.

Looks like it's already been implemented in libtorrent svn: http://libtorrent.rakshasa.no/ticket/171

What's the difference between these two libtorrents?

They're two completely separate projects that both happened to use the same name. Rasterbar's libtorrent (which we use) is BSD licenced, while rakshasa's is GPL'ed.

And they are both at version 0.11 ? ... this is a strange coincidence.

Not only are both at 0.11, but both moved to 0.11 within weeks of each other. Very odd indeed.

Firs of all, thanks for your work for the comunity zachtib and co.

I would like to see enryption in Deluge to. I can not use your client because my ISP is filtering pockets. I can only use uTorrent (wine) and Azureus (java). I once tried Ktorrent (KDE), but it didnt work quite as well as those two.
I think I'm not alone with my problem. Therefore I would realy like to see some native torrent client to work with encryption.
I will cross my fingers and wait for the feature to be added to Deluge.

Best of luck with your project.

no, that's far to radical a change. encryption is planned in rasterbar's libtorrent, so Deluge will get it eventually.
