Hello System76 and anyone else that may know the answer to my questions. I was wondering about two things. First, will system76 laptops be offered with a better nvidia graphics card (geforce go 7900) any time soon? Second, what happens if I want/need to re-install ubuntu? Do you provide a re-install cd with your changes or a cd with drivers (such as your driver that auto-updates).

Thank for you time.

Vlad

I forgot to mention that the reason why I want a better graphics card is because I want a higher resolution. Geforce go 7600 would be fine. I realise that the 7600 does support higher resolution, but it would be the screen that didn't. So, do you plan on having a better screen (SXGA+, UXGA.. etc) that supports a higher resolution (like you did a long time ago with the pangolin series). I sure hope so. I'll be buying a laptop really soon and that would be the break!

you're right - the lcd is the factor more so than the graphics card. We don't have plans for a higher res screen at this time.

The Gazelle has a 1280x800 (WXGA) resolution, which is standard for most 13.3" and 14" notebooks, including the 13.3" MacBook.

As far as I know, Dell is the only major maker with a 14" or smaller notebook using a higher resolution. You can get the Inspiron E1405 with a 1440x900 (WXGA+) option.

Aww, too bad. Thanks for all of the responses. I REALLY want to buy from system76, but I am a graphic designer and I must have a higher resolution than 1280x800.

Keep doing what you guys are doing. I think system76 is a great example of how companies should do business. :)
