I have been doing some thinking and am wondering If we need or can use a section based on web development and Web based Data base and scripting.

This is more than just a wish whem but am thinking that this may seriosly help Ubuntu and Linux in general. The basic idea is to create a actual phisical helper for people thinking of using Ubuntu to do web developement.

Also this may also act as a launching point where users can discuss issues and may act as a launching point to identify short commings and possible email campains to get new programs for linux like a FLash editor etc!.

Your idea's on this are very important to show forum mods that this is a desirable feature.

That would most probably go under the Programming sections located here..

A name change or a web dev description might help steer users there. Could also use dev with differents sub subjects?

There is a forum council meeting coming up next month [March 2008]. LaRoza has added the web developer forum request to the agenda and will attend the meeting.

If you have an interest in web design (using Ubuntu), lend your support by voting in the poll (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=585863) associated with a similar thread. The council is more likely to approve the request if we can demonstrate a sufficient demand for the proposed sub-forum.
