It's probably not ET specific but when I exit Enemy Territory, my desktop view area is still set to 640x480 (I play in 640x480) and I have to navigate the rest of the desktop by pushing the mouse to the edge of the monitor.

To reset it and view the whole desktop I have to change the resolution and then change it back again. Is there some setting somewhere that will automatically set the desktop back to default somewhere or is this a flaw/bug?

I play ET: True Combat Elite regularly at 800x600, and I do not get your problem when I exit the game; the screen resolution goes back to 1024x768 no problem.

Try playing ET in "windowed" mode, instead of "fullscreen". Although you lose the fullscreen immersion of the game, the nice thing about windowed mode is that you can still access the rest of your desktop when you use the ET "~" console.

BTW, I'm using an ATI Mobility 9000 with the open-source radeon driver.

Thanks. I'll use that as a temporary solution. Perhaps it's the official ATI drivers I use then.
