Just been checking out an old friend's blog, when I read an article suggesting Microsoft will be offering free/discounted Windows Vista to people who buy a XP computer soon before March?
Read this (http://gavilan1010.wordpress.com/2006/10/06/plans-to-free-vista-upgrade/) for more detail, what do you guys think?
Personally, if I want a free OS, it'd be a linux distro, most likely Ubuntu.

Its a way to keep PC sales healthy before Vista's release. I'm told that Apple does something similar.

Well the hardware vendors weren't really happy that Vista does not come for xmas and it kills thir best selling quarter. I doubt it really helps them.
At least now people will go through an OS install.
I personlly wish they would start to give away those vista coupons early summer when I bought my DTR, now I have to fork out 100$ upgrade if want to keep gaming. Most likely rather sell the notebook and get a new with vista.
My main rig is even slower with vista than XP so Ms has no chance to conquer my X505.
