I dont think its my video card or my drivers because I updated all that stuff. I also made sure that the game starts in open gl mode but the problem is that any part of the screen where I would have 3d or cool graphics or my character is black. This is in the log inscreen and in the game. I am not sure what the problem is because before I updated the game I didnt have this problem.

I also have that problem, in the login screen I have the black background. Not I get neither to enter with my character. I have a graphic card ATI Radeon 9600, and I believe that the drivers are well.

BTW, when I use wine WoW.exe -opengl gives me the following error:

Your 3D Accelerator is not supported by World of Warcraft. Please install a 3D accelerator card with dual-TMU support.

Can somebody help us? Thank you! ](*,)

I did a google and some investigating, it's not a Linux problem it's a WoW problem with older cards, found a few ppl having the exact same trubble in Windows, but mostly ppl with Linux so my guess would be that by some reason the cards don't register right when WoW asks about it or misreads the info.

Some even meantion it on the offical wow forums

Might wanna try installing the graficdrivers again or try installing a earlier version of the graficdrivers.

I know we can try to get an official port of WOW for Linux but the problem is if we can do it in Wine or Cedaga that will be their exuse why they don't need to make a Linux port.

Unfortunatley Blizzard seems to not see any good from gaming in Linux. ](*,)

It's not that I'm against the petition, I signed it myself but there's only a very small glint of hope that it will ever happen. :(

(And if you look at the petition people are willing to pay them they could make a million or 2 just by making a linux port... :-k Which for them shouldn't be that hard... Apparently porting games isn't that hard, or so the elders have told me.)

the chances of Blizzard picking up and making a Linux port are slim to non and as far as cash goes, they got about 6'000'000 ppl registered , say 4'000'000 of them pay every month at $12 that's

12 x 4'000'000 = $48'000'000 incoming every month in to blizzard, say that it cost them a few millon to keep it up and running, making patches ect, that leaves about 40 left, do you really think blizzard at this stage would care to make a port? not really no, they got no need for it and it's just extra work ect.
