pismo modem dapper prob. works with breezy

Internal modem is recognized and works with 5.10 "official" live cd
However installed Dapper 6.06.1 with latest updates as of Oct-06,
sees no modem present and cannot be made to see any.

Is there a kernel module missing here or ???

Have googled and rfm and closest info found was related to soft-modem
issues of later G4's of which mine is NOT.......

Anyone else have a prob.?

Dapper AFAIK have issues with the pmac_zilog modem that comes in early G3 macs.
