Ive played HL2 in cedega for a while now, it runs nicely on my system. But im a person who just keeps tweaking to make hl2 look nicer even though it
already looks acceptable. My specs are:

AMD 64 3200+ (2 GHz)
1024 MB RAM
nvidia geForce 6800 pci-e with 256 mb ram

From what i read on various sites i should be able to play hl2 with pixel shaders 1.4 fairly well. But as soon as i enable pixel shaders 1.4 the fps drops to 10 (stable somehow) and the game becomes unplayable / crashes. I know nice water is not that important but i cant live with the thought -it SHOULD be possible, but i cant get it :p So anyone has some suggestions?

By the way I remember playing CS:Source with nice water but somehow it doesnt work anymore.

Never mind guys, Turned out that i had frame buffer objects enabled, disabled it and it works like a charm again :) i get nice high fps with ps 1.4 enabled.

Did you ever get "reflect word" and "reflect all" to work? Seems that no matter what I try I can't get the water to reflect anything (refraction is good though!)
