I just downloaded ubuntu 6.06 ppc version... and i burnt it onto a disc without opening the file, but i tried to boot it (holding C at startup) but it didn't work. I also tried following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Installation/PowerPC <- that guide and it tells me to do some stuff on open firmware. (Because I do use a third party keyboard also) but nothing seems to be working. When I tried to boot it using the boot cd;,\\txbi command it just gave me the phrohibition sign.. what to do??

Are you sure that your firmware isn't password protected? Generally a Mac should boot up just fine from a properly burned cd, but if it has password protected firmware then there is nothing you can do unless you get the password from the admin or original owner.

Well i am the first hand user of this iBook... and i do remeber playing around with firmware password.. but I'm not to sure if I actually set anything... Also I have tried holding option to see the boot options and the cd wasn't listed and I also tried the command + option + shift + delete thing, and that just showed a folder with a question mark and than flashing to finder. I'm not sure if I burnt this disc right though.. I just draged the iso file un-opened, onto a blank cd and clicked burn.....

P.S if I did set a password how would I undo that password???

UPDATE: I was bored and had some extra discs lying around and decided to burn many iso's in many different ways. Good thing I choose Disk Utility First. Now it works... and everything is fine..

In what mode it worked? I have the same problem: I burned the ISO, but I was unable to boot from two different PowerPc's. They just ignored the disk at boot (holding C), although I can see the contents on the Macinstoh desktop.

I had this problem on my indigo ibook - I used 2 different computer to burn the images & various speeds but nothing worked.

In the end someone sugggested trying a shipit CD - I had to wait a while for it to arrive but it boot up right away.

I did get some issues with teh screen being split in half but that was resolved in another thread

Yeah, at first it sounded like you wernt hitting "c" at bootup, however, an improperly burned iso will also give you the same results as you yourself discovered.

I just opened up Disk Utility and dragged the unopened ISO file into the source list... or the place where all your drives appear. than I inserted a Blank CD, and clicked burn... after that it just worked.. but now I'm trying to get it to install on a external USB drive..
