We have normally used Skype in the past, but becuase people wanted us to go open source, the most recent episode we used Gizmo with the built in recording.

As for recording Skype conversations, when James is on, he records it using Audacity and a mixer on another computer, and that wouldn't be easy for most people.

As for the rest of us, we use the skype-rec script. More information can be found on it here:

It was a shame about Gizmo, the "record button" didn't grab high quality (enough for re-editing, or podcasting)

We will keep looking for that killer podcasting, and recording app. :)

You know, I tried the method from http://ubuntuos.com/2006/02/howto-record-skype-conversations and it didnt seem to work for me. I had no problems getting it setup and could launch skype with the skype recorder but nothing seemed to be recording? I get no errors as well. I'm confused. :) Is there a step I am missing to actually record a conversation or will launching skype with the skyp-rec automatically record conversations? I also tried working with the latest versio of skype-rec 1.0 with the same results.

This forum/thread isn't a support thread for skype-rec. I didn't create it, so I don't know what your problem is.

The only thing I can ask you to do is make sure you are launching skype with the skype-rec script, not the way you would normally launch it. Instructions for doing that are in the blog post.

Please don't reply here with more questions, rather, start a new thread in the correct forum with your question.

Thanks.
