Hi, I'm running an old machine as an FTP-server using Ubuntu 6.06 server OS and glFTPd. I need to unrar some files on it in order to rename them but RAR isn't installed. I tried apt-get install rar but I get the following output:
Package rar is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package rar has no installation candidate
I would rather unrar the files on the server, rename them and repack them instead of downloading them, going through the procedure and then uploading them again. I really don't have a lot of traffic on the server (it's mainly for private use) so I don't mind if some capacity is directed to this.
My guess is that it could be fixed by amending the sources.list but the various sources.list I've seen are intended for desktop/laptop. Can anyone help me out with this one?
best regards
Mojoman
