Hello I am fairly new to Linux, Ubuntu, and Networking.

I need to set up a server in a small office. It will need to go on the internet, be used as a file storage, and be able to print. This network will be running a mix of both windows and ubuntu.

Will I be able to do the above with ubuntu? If so can I install desktop to the server and later install any packages, LAMP, etc.

I could probably get the server edition but I don't wan't to spend a lot of time setting it up and figuring out how to setup the GUI.

Thank's

The desktop edition of ubuntu has the server install in it. Meaning all ubuntu installations (ubuntu, kubuntu, xubuntu) start with the server install. They become different when the wiondow manager is added. So if you install any of them, you will have the server install as well.
