Hello,

My question is under what license the default Ubuntu wallpaper in Hoary falls.
The brown one with the star/light like things. I changed my theme to the normal ClearLook theme which has a blue title bar for its windows, and I adjusted the wallpaper to better fit with that.
Now I would like to post these at http://www.gnome-look.org/ but I must be sure that it is legal.

If you want it, and it is allowed I can upload a sample somewhere.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the reply but I also found that one, since I cannot not find who made the default wallpaper I don't know who to contact to ask permission.

Doesn't really matter who made it, it was released under the license in that link by Canonical.

The copyright information is given in the file:

/usr/share/doc/ubuntu-artwork/copyright

It belongs to Canonical who I think have granted you permission to download, display, copy and print-out for personal, non-comercial, or educational use so long as you also supply their copyright information with anything you distribute. At least, that's how it reads to me.
