there's some weird problem with my ubuntu.....

i've got quake 4 instaled natively and it doesnt find any other lan servers, neither does anygame running from cedega, i installed C&C Generals in cedega and my lan address shows 127.0.1.1....

i cant get to see any lan game servers... ive tried quake4, C&C Generals, StarCraft, and neither network servers shows the windows pc's in my network, any help......????

Can you access the Ubuntu repositories for updates?

If you can't, then you may be suffering from a DNS problem that seems to me to be a problem with some router/modem's & can be worked around.

If you can access the repo's, then the only help I can give you is this bump... :)

Sorry, I didn't read carefully enough.

If you do no good here, you might try the Networking sub-forum, there are a lot of guru's that don't look in the game section.

I'm sure your solution is getting closer...
