I have a programme I use in windows and i love it http://www.photofiltre.com/

It's free and you can run it off USB and you can right click/paste as new image (a must have for me to like an editing programme)

I was wondering if the people here might know of a linux programme that is close to it.

If you would try it then you might recognise a linux alternative. It's a very small download.

I use photofiltre too, its dead simple and nice amount of features.IMO gimp has too many features and the way the organize them makes it rather confusing. A linux port of photofiltre would be nice:D....

I've just read this

wine pf-setup-en.exe to install Photofiltre.
wine photofiltre.exe in the installation directory to run Photofiltre.

I'm at work so I haven't tried it yet

I'd still like something native though.

I used to show people the basics of retouching using photofiltre

you could also try Krita, it's Kdes new photo manipulation app... I know it's kde... but as usual, it's the uglier desktop but has the better programs, sad but true.

Krita is more for painting I think.
