Hi.

I am looking for a sleek, portable laptop, and the Gazelle looks good, but I'm a bit skeptical of the 1" thickness quoted on your website.

I took a quick measure of your provided profile images. Assuming your photos preserve aspect ratio, and that the other measurements are accurate, the Gazelle performance appears to be nearly 1.4" thick, not including the rubber feet.

Now, that is a serious difference, as 1" thick puts us in Sony/Apple territory, and 1.4" thick puts us closer to a Dell.

Please advise as to the accuracy of the measurement -- is 1" really the max thickness of the Gazelle performance? If so, can you explain why it appears to be significantly thicker in the photos?

Thanks.

Hi Cleentrax - you're absolutely right. We mixed up the Gazelle Performance and Gazelle Value width dimensions. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Gazelle Performance Width: 1.45"
Gazelle Value Width: 1.0"

The Gazelle Performance with the nVidia upgrade is the slickest machine available. We're having professional pictures takes now. I can gaurantee you'll be amazed once you see it (Apple style looks).

Thanks for the correction. I hate to be pedantic, but the Gazelle Value also seems to be significantly thicker than 1". Its images (minus the rubber feet) have a width/thickness ratio of 10:1 and depth/thickness ratio of 6.95:1, both of which would make it about 1.33 inches thick, assuming correct aspect ratio and width/depth measurements.

Perhaps it is your old 12" Gazelle notebook which was only 1" thick?

As for the black Gazelle, I look forward to seeing more pictures. Is it an identical case with a color change, or is it a different case, with different measurements?

The Pangolin also seems to suffer from "optimistic" width sizing. It appears to be roughly 1.5" thick, not 1.14" thick. The Bonobo and Serval are hard to measure via the pictures, since there are no straight profiles.

The Gazelle Value is 1" - it's my own 'measured with a ruler' measurement w/ rubber feet. Our measurements come from our manufactures but I agree they deserve our own calculation.

Thanks for going above and beyond the call of duty!

It appears that the "value" Gazelle is more svelte than the "performance" Gazelle. So I'll look more closely at that one.
