Cedega is a non-free piece of software based on wine. If you pay them money you can get a .deb package.
It works like wine.

It is running great for me, however I was only able to run it properly with the newest version of Cedega/Point2Play. My advice is pay the $ and get an account so that you have access to not only the latest releases, but the support forums as well. Plus, if you have the $ to spend, it helps keep someone employed working on making the linux gaming experience better.
The games I have running just fine on Ubuntu right now are:
Doom3 (native)
Half-Life 2 (Cedega/P2P) (about 25% slower framerates than Windows, but plays great)
UT2004 (native, faster than in Windows)
Call of Duty (Cedega/P2P-- 300+ FPS with FX5900)
Call of Duty United Offensive (Cedega/P2P)
Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (native but sound is a bit hokey)
Return to Castle Wolfenstein (native)
Enemy Territory (native)
Duke Nukem Atomic Edition (native)
Quake 2 (native)
Quake 3 (native)
As you can probably tell, I like FPS's.
I am working on Brothers in Arms.

If you pay the 5 bucks a month, for 3 months (minimum amount available), and you cancel your membership after that, are you still able to use the point2play GUI without being a paying subscriber?
