Does Installing Windows Void My Warranty?

I am planning on, and will most likely be dual booting on the laptop I get between Ubuntu and Windows XP. I'm curious if installing Windows will void my warranty in anyway.

I don't have the answer to that question, but just wanted to make sure you knew that installing Windows after Ubuntu will overwrite the Master Boot Record. You'll need to reinstall grub afterwards to enable dual-booting.

There is a nice how-to on the System76 website. I've done it and I don't think it voids the warranty.

No it won't void your warranty. By the way - the how to allows you to add Windows without screwing up your Master Boot Record.

We installed Windows on one of our Wild Dogs and went back to Ubuntu. The restore CD they shipped us put everything back exactly how it was, including the MBR.
