View Full Version : Calling all artists! Need Ubuntu CE Usplash

Ok, I am planning to replace the default Ubuntu Usplash with an Ubuntu CE Usplash. I have put together a simple one to test, but I really would like to have a nice polished one. I would like it to be very similiar to the default Ubuntu one. I would love to see what ideas you all have. If you would like to submit one just attach it to a reply.

I look forward to seeing what you all can come up with.

That looks cool, but I was actually talking about the "Usplash". The splash that is displayed during the boot process. I have created a nice simple one that I think will be included in the next release, but I would love to get some ideas from others.

WHat format does it have to be in? I have a few ideas, but I want to make sure that whatever I make is scompatible.

I made one that might work. It is only 6 colors and 640 by 480 pixels.

Thanks that looks very nice. I like the clean look. The next release (v1.4) and probably the future releases as well will include the Usplash from the link below.

I will keep your submission for possible inclusion of an idea I had of incorporating a "Change Usplash" program into a future release of Ubuntu CE. That way users could easily customize the Usplash.

The Change Uplash would be a nice feature. I tried to change mine using instrucions from a book we found before getting the new CE version and I ended up with a black screen and a little dash at the top.
