Hi there,
I have had a brainstorm and i want to create a online petition, to show games developers that there is a need for games other platforms other the Windows.
The website will be called something like "free our games" and it will allow Linux, Mac, and other OS users to sign a petition showing intreast in games to be developed or co developed using Open GL/AL allowing easier conversion to platforms other then windows.
I know petitons of this sort have happened before but there not easy to find on the net, i just wish to bring this message forward and show people we are here to stay and we like the users of windows need games to help us pass time by.
Any guideince or help would be welcomed

It will be useless unless they can make a profit.. you have to show them the price savings, etc..

The truth is...that even if the licenses are expensive...the time a DirectX programmer needs to learn OpenGL is probably even more expensive...time which he could have used to develop more games.

That i believe is a false statement
Games are ever becoming more popular and currently are truly only offered on one platform on the PC Windows, but with people moving from windows everyday to go and use alternative operating systems there demands are just as those of windows users this includes games.
Currently i know hundreds of people who wish to migrate from windows to these Operating systems but the lack of game support is/has stopped them.
With the next gen games requiring Direct X 10 and Vista being the only OS to use DX10 i can see a lot of unhappy people having to cough up there hard earned cash to be able to play these games which is wrong and unnecessary!
However if games developers were to offer there games in Open GL/AL then the game has the potential of reaching a wider audience across several operating systems and creating greater sales for that company.
