I just installed Xgl and the Compiz packages as described here:
http://www.linuxjournal.com/node/1000081
Everything seems to work except that when I try to change to a theme engine that is not "legacy" using gcompizthemer, the decorations are not initialized. For example, when I click on "Edit" and then "Select Engine", I see pixmap, truglass, oxygen, vrunner, and zootreeves; however, none of these themes have icons (they are white pages with red crosses through) and selecting them does not produce the desired change.
I located the libraries in /usr/lib/cgwd/engines/ and "legacy" works fine, so I am really unsure as to what is causing the problem. Advice would be appreciated.
I am running KDE under Dapper Drake with kernel 2.6.15-26-386 and the latest nvidia-glx driver for my GeForce2 MX200.
