Server recommenadations

I am new to the liunx world and am considering moving my wanna be XP server to the Ubuntu platform. I currently use it to host web space, file server and host my domain's e-mail. Just looking for advice on the best way to configure and what e-mail server system to use. I like using Exchange Server, under the trial, but was too cheap to cough up the $$ for it. :biggrin:
