I've been using Ubuntu for about 1 year now and want to run my own server for email/collaboration. I've been trying to install egroupware, but when I run the config it seems to keep going in a loop (I do the header admin config and hit continue and it goes back to header admin config).

My question is - does anyone know of a Howto I can follow to get egroupware running?

Sorry I don't have the answer but I am also looking for a reliable and fast way to install egroupware.
For a long time ago I did look at a demo for egroupware and decided to try other solutions. I was very happy with Conflux Professional (proprietary but free for up to 5 users) and believe that Hula would be enough. My ultimate goal was (the open source version of ) OpenXchange but I gave up when looking at the intricate installation procedure. It was too risky for practical use.

Your best bet is probably to download the latest version from eGroupWare directly. The .tgz from there is quickly installed, and running... mostly. If your using LDAP auth for Ubuntu, and want to use it for eGW as well, I hope you know more about it than me..
