No I'm not going to try it, it's based on slutware, which isn't a widely accepted distro, because it's vulnerable to viruses, and is known to be unstable and unreliable.

You should also be aware, Wrapit only protects against infections, it does not solve the problems regarding stability and realiability. Also WrapIt may break, leaving you open to infections.

I've been using WrapIt for 12 years without any problems, now i've upgraded to a non-licenced version of stable GBR-GF.

So far, without a few inconsistencies it's working great. I also introduced a spiral based security system that protects us from unwanted childprocesses.

Sexist tripe.

I'm sorry but it is not, Paris Hilton is very much a public person and man or woman, you get what you put out there.

Now if i had said something about women as a sex, then it would have been sexist, but since neither the article nor any posters here did, it isn't sexist (umless you are trying to infer that PH is the third sex).

The very term '****' is sexist, because it is a judgement based on a gender double standard. For instance, other 'public [people]' who have been intimate with a number of partners (or have at least attracted/cultivated such a reputation), such as Gerard Depardieu or Sean Connery are not labelled with pejoratives such as '****' or '*****.' Why? Because belonging to the male gender means that their sexual encounters are seen as 'conquests' which speak to their charm and virility. The 'conquered' on the other hand, - the women - are seen to have been compromised in some way and are hence stigmatised. Unequal binary labelling such as this, and the mentality operating behind it, is the very definition of sexism.

@mrgnash the article says exactly this
Tinkerbell Linux is based on Slutware Linux and will be distributed on Paris Hilton's next music CD entitled "Crontab for Love." Until then the distribution can be downloaded from http://www.parishilton.com/tinkerbell/.
I can appreciate your concern, but it is simply taking words straight out of the article

mrgnash

I am well aware of that. But the behaviour in this thread was hardly a matter of 'simply taking words straight out of the article.' The words in the article were incorporated into new jokes or evaluative statements, they were not simply directly quoted without any contextualization whatsoever. And by doing so, and in assuming the same attitudes of the article itself rather than reproving them, you signal what might be very charitably called 'tacit approval.'

The reason it's funny, is because it relates to slack, so it sounds almost like a real distro, but on the other hand it is far out.
But at least you identified it as a joke.

And yes to some degree I aprove of the artcle, I don't like the attitude some people have, about the only thing that matters, is how you look. To the degree, that many people feel they need plastic surgery, to look good enough to be accepted.

Wouldn't my inference to having used slutware a lot make ME the ****?

Or are you the one so locked into your sexist thinking that you can't imagine such a thing?

And your entire line of thinking just confirms what thought, that you see women as "conquests" speaks volumes of how you think, just realize that not everyone is a narrowminded as you are.

"this software is no dog! Like its creator it has a flashy and highly polished feel to it while remaining easily accessible - both front-end and back-end."

A bit further:

Many Linux users said they appreciate the exposure a star like Paris Hilton can give to the Linux movement, and added that they can "appreciate someone who can compile without panties on."

This is the third such occurrence for Linux developers since 1991.

Hm... doesn't seen like it. Now it's on a CD called "Crontab for Love".

Talking about /etc/crontab IS NOT related to the CD. But, as the Linux world goes around, I talk about it (Tinkerball Linux) as "Slutware with a topping of Paris Hiltion." (This is not about poltics in the US)
