If you've got a decent internet connection, you can download a DVD iso on their website (http://en.opensuse.org/Released_Version). Alternatively, you could find a linux magazine with it on the cover (OpenSuse seems to be a popular choice for magazines over here at least.) As far as I know, there's no shippit type scheme. Novell aren't that generous.
As far as upgrading goes, I found this (http://www.suseforums.net/lofiversion/index.php/t22858.html) talking about upgrading from 10.0 to 10.1. There seems to be very little on the web about upgrading Suse, so I'm guessing it's not easy if it is possible. Have fun with OpenSuse.
