1. What spec is your system? Maybe your graphics card doesn't support the advanced features.

2. Usually advanced graphical features are disabled by default in these games; try looking at the settings and enabling them.

The screenies are from the yet to be released 0.49 which will be out any moment now. You probably installed an older version.

TC:E hasn't been updated in a while. The new version (0.49 I think) will have all those nice graphical upgrades. Can't wait for HDR personally.

Hmm.. i have installed tc:E and all i had to do was to wait when i connected to a server and then they installed all for me so almost all servers has the beta of the newest version and its almost bug free :)
