Yes, I tried BWlauncher but you need ActiveX for that to work. I got the only other no-cd I knew of from here http://gosureplays.ru/soft.php (the one at the top). Open it with wine, (right click-open with) it should extract to your desktop. It's called install.exe, just open it with wine. Click play bw 1.14 if you already patched, you might get a popup saying something about finding a cd, click yes to find one and it should work. I havent actually been able to play a game yet, my mouse is laggy as hell, cant get onto bnet, and when I try to play single player i get some retarded error about reinstalling setup.exe.I dont think these problems are due to the no-cd. If anyone has any suggestions on getting it to work properly please post.

Edit: well that setup.exe error that was poping up...i actually read it, turns out it had some usefull info, I guess the instructions i read in a diff post here were wrong and your supposed to install with the setup.exe NOT the install.exe, Now I can play 1player!! yay i guess... Still no bnet(ghey) and still uber choppy mouse, I think I might try cedega next..

cedega seems to work a little better for me however once u do the updates from battle net it gets that choppy feel agian i think it has to do with the video card drivers the standard ones dont work so well. plus every time i install the propitary ones i get errors and some times it gets work on cadega however u can play battle net

Do I need an iso of the cd or something on my machine? I can't get it to work, it just keeps complaining about not find the sc cd. I used to play without it no problem...

I just found this on the net:

IMO the best and safest way playing starcraft any version without cd is using a good image with an emulator such as daemon-tools ( www.daemon-tools.cc/ ) .

You can find a mini-image here: http://m0001.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_starcraft.shtml#StarCraft%20/%20SC:%20Brood%20War%20[ALL]%20No-CD/Fixed%20Image

Would it be possible to mount the mini image using linux in a way that wine/Brood Wars could read it?
