I have around 100GB of video files crammed into a secondary drive on my pc which were recorded via a dated tv tuner card under Windows. Anyway, to free up space I have converted many of them to an mpeg4.avi extension.
My question is what is the best way now to take these mpeg4.avi files and successfully burn them onto a DVD for use in a standalone DVD player?
Thanks for the help.

Tovid....hands down....easy to use...command line interface just works great, the gui however is buggy.
I use Tovid for transcoding, makemenu to make the dvd menu, makexml to make the require .xml file for the makedvd command I use.
All the DVDs I make use the terminal, its easy and it just works.
There are other programs out there that do the menu thing etc...but I could never get any of them to reliably work.
And when it comes down to it, a fancy menu does not interest me, I just want to watch the video.

Thanks Wiskas.
So, Tovid will take the video straight from the mpeg4.avi format to the appropriate DVD format? I was afraid I might have to encode it to a new format or something.
I will look into tovid the next time I get a chance.
