Steam Error.

Something very bad, perhaps you installed Steam under root user then tries starting it as regular user?

How would I remove it from root then reinstall under a regular user?

You probably installed it using synaptic/apt, and that's fine

When do you get the error?

Odd. Seems fine now. Last time I got it after double clicking half life on the games list.
