Hi,

I think this gonna be quite generic, but I would love to change my login manager and widgets(controls) theme over the default ones. Where could I grab some nice of those or which would be most/highly recommended? Many thanks in advance for helps :)

I haven't found any login screens that did really fit my taste... but for gtk2 themes I'd recommend the candido engine with the calm theme. the engine can be installed via synaptic, while the theme can be downloaded from gnome-look.org (just search "candido calm")

If you want to get your hands dirty you can try to configure xdm by hand while using qiv for backgrounds.

The sites posted above are usually the first stop for that kind of stuff. I think that there is also a package where you can edit login themes within synaptic. That is of course if you wish to make one yourself.
