This is an information thread only. Please do not reply.

After a few months of testing and receiving a lot of feedback from users,
we have made some improvements and I think it is time to launch a
production release.

Major improvements have been made to the dansguardian gui such as
not-so-restrictive default settings, full indication of status, and
more options on filter settings. We have also removed firehol and
replaced it with a custom made firewall. We have also added a wine
christian repository, which contains selected windows program to run through wine.

In addition to the desktop edition, we have also released a server edition. Three
important packages included in the server edition are Churchinfo
(church management software), Christian Website in a Box (webhosting),
and prayerboard (software to manage prayer requests). The server
edition is released as a live cd to facilitate easy installation.

For details of server edition, check below post:

David Kuntadi (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=187249) is now the Development Lead and will be in charge of the deb packages and repos. We will be looking for a person who is willing to take charge of the themes, graphics, and artwork for the next release. If you are interested you can send a note to support@ubuntuce.com.

I just want to dido the HUGE THANKS to David Kuntadi (http://ubuntuforums.org/member.php?u=187249) and to you!!!!!!
I was planning on converting over to UbuntuCE from windows, then about a month ago I went to the web-site, and it said it was no longer going to be made/updated. That made me really sad, and because I am new to linux, I would not have been able to do it myself. (I attempted to put dansgaurdian on my current version of ubuntu, which was a big failure).

I think it is really great that you guys have this version of ubuntu out there for people, and just want to say thanks again!

I will hopefully be transfering to it sometime in the near future, when I get some time to load it.

you guys have made me very happy!
