Hi I have been thinking of this for a very long time now and its kind of based on being able to use other funtionality for specific parts of the forum. This is mostly based for posts such as games etc. The top down approach is very usefull and has been working realy well so far but for some stuff it may be nice to have a parent and parent threads for such things as long game posts etc.

Basicly im thinking of something on these lines

Ubuntu threads
Parent
sub thread
sub thread
sub thread
Parent
etc......

Now this not a change in the way the firum works but rather allowing some extra functionality to the forum with a default choice of a normal thread or a tree like option.

Now for useage say you are looking in a thread with a lot of posts on a specific game. This would allow for a tree to be added for that game and make comments specific to that game within that thread. Also it will allow for solutions to problems etc within the area of topic. This is mainly for huge posts with special posting problems

Now this is just a vaige idea and I am not shure if it is even possible but worth looking into.

Sort of like,
if you go onto "Display Modes"
Just above the first post in a thread,
and select "tree view" or "hybrid view"?

a kind of like that but a post in the thread would be the parent thread
so say

Normal post
tree post in thread
------- post
------- post
