Ubuntu Server on Sun Enterprise 3500

Has any one had luck running Ubuntu Dapper Drake 6.0.6 on a Sun Enterprise x000 system? I have a Sun Enterprise 3500 that is running Sun Solaris 8 and am thinking of moving over to Ubuntu but want to know if anyone has had success loading Ubuntu server before heading down *what I assume would be* a painful path. :-)

If your E3500 is fibre-channel, I think you're out of luck. I have an E3500 fully loaded with FC disks, and the only OS I can get running on it is Solaris. Technically you could pull all the FC disks out and attach an external SCSI array which would be supported.
