Netra T4

Hey all i have a rack mounted Netra T4, I would like to put Ubuntu Server on.

It has (2) Ultra SPARC III 900mhz processors.

Will these processors support Ubuntu?

I can install Solaris 10/06.

From all I have read Ubuntu only works on the Ultra T1 Processors, is this correct?

It is wrong.

A bit of forum search (keyword "sparc") would have shown you PLENTY of posts from people running Ubuntu on Ultra 2, 5, 10, 60 and Sun Blades which cover pretty much the entire range of UltraSPARC processors, from UltraSPARC I, II, IIi, IIe and III.

They have varying success doing so, admittedly. But this does not correlate with Ubuntu's support for SPARC processors.

Your statement makes me doubt a bit that you have actually read anything this forum's content or used the search engine..
