I have got a router setup connected to the adsl line it used to connect directly to my mac. Now i have bought a switch to divide the connection further in my room between my pc and mac so i can use both at the same time. The dhcp no longer works how do i set it up?
my switch is called "NETGEAR Fast ethernet Switch" the model number is "FS 105"
thanks for taking the time to read, i look forward to hearing you solutions.

What type of router do you have?

When you log into the router web interface to set it up is dhcp running and set up to supply addresses to more than 1 client?

On your switch, does the original computer get an IP?

Do you have the uplink button pressed?

Is the router lan cable plugged into the #1 slot on the switch?

Does your DLS modem require yo to log in and authenticate with your ISP directly through the modem?

Those are a few quickies I would check for starters, post a little more info on your router and we can go from there if none of these help you.
