Ubuntu is the best linux distro I've ever used!

:) I gotta give credits to Ubuntu's developers. They did such an excellent work on this distro. I am currently using Ubuntu 5.04 and I am quite happy with the result. Although it took me quite sometimes to tweak my box, but it was all worthy. My system is up and running for ~ 2 days without crashing.

1. It boots faster than Windows XP
2. It consumes less system resources that Windows XP
3. After a lot of tweaking, it seems more stable than XP

Gotta agree with that. I've been using Ubuntu for about 2 hours now, (Warty) and all I had to do was get the modum tweaked.

I'm a clueless newbie and Ubuntu leaves that other 'newbie favoured' distro, Mandrake, out in the cold.

You should try Hoary then its about 4 times better in my humble opinion at almost everything i have tried so far.
Speed, Drivers, autodetecting hardware, networking etc. etc.
