Can't run Cedega games in XGL/Compiz session

Howdy all, I'm running Ubuntu Dapper Drake edition and I installed both XGL/Compiz and Cedega without problems.

However, whenever I log into the XGL/Compiz session, the Cedega games will not launch. The window opens up as if it is attempting to launch, but then just disappears.

I can run the games fine from the regular Gnome session. Does anyone know a fix for this XGL/Compiz Cedega problem? Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem (OpenGL games, I haven't tried Cedega yet) and this helped me a lot: http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=176636

EDIT: I just reread your post and it looks like the games aren't starting up at all, so the above fix might not do anything but it's worth a try. If you know how to start games from the console it might be helpful to post any output you can get from there
