"Most users ever online was 3,269, 3 Minutes Ago at 10:43 AM."

Well I guess breaking everybody's X will at least get them more involved in the community.

conclusive proof that the dev need to test the $*it out of updates before releasing them. and the system of releasing updates needs to be more solid, so screw ups like this don't happen.

I hear some other guys have the same problem (http://www.securityfocus.com/news/11408)with a patch in their OS distro....

Ah, the good ole MS defence.

We do something stupid, but MS is also doing something stupid so it's ok.

Always incredibly impressive...

Don't get too happy... Linux users only make up between 0 and 5 percent of Internet users.... Linux users are still insignificant int the world of computing.

getting a bit repetetive and boring there J-boy...guess, when you get an opportunity, you need to talk that stuff a lot 'cause you do not get to very often...any bets on if (or maybe should say how many times) "your boys" screw up before "our people" do again?

Well, I think the borked update was mentioned on both Digg and Slashdot, which would probably explain the jump in traffic.

I'll place my bet, 1,000 to 1, on MS getting another security bug, like always, before Linux (ANY DISTRO). Hey, I like XP Pro, but it's still a piece of crap when compared to Ubuntu. Ubuntu appeals to my love of graphics and customization, not to mention the fact that it rarely, if ever, crashes or freezes.

Ironically my dad is having some major problems updating his Mac OSX computer, whenever he runs the system updater the computer freezes. If he does not update the computer crashing anyway. It occurs in OS9 and X. That just goes to show that no computer system is compuletly free of bugs, I consider the xorg error minor. We got it fixed didn't we? Compare the support of Ubuntu's forums to that of Apple or MS...

YES! Exactly! Come on. With Microsoft's latest foupa, they STILL have not fixed it. The bug fix for this mornings incident, which didn't affect me since I took Ubuntu off last night to load onto a different computer and still have not done *lazy*, was sent out the same day. Now that's what I call AWESOME support! I love Ubuntu. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside...argh...I figured I got rid of that. :p
